Over roughly 10 months, I worked with a Sobriety App company, which was offering courses and support material for people in recovery and their families, as a research and strategy contributor.
My work covered five connected areas:
- market and audience research,
- marketing and go-to-market strategy,
- content and SEO research,
- business development research, and
- outbound B2B campaign setup.
The core of the work was breaking down SoberIn40's market into distinct segments — people directly affected by addiction and the family members around them — and understanding how each group thinks, searches, and makes decisions differently. That research shaped everything downstream: how the company positioned its courses, which channels it prioritized, what content it created, and how it approached potential business partners like therapists and insurance-related contacts.
The mind map above is one of the actual strategy documents from the engagement — it maps customer segments, marketing channels, and business development routes side by side, showing how the research translated into a structured plan rather than ad hoc activity.
The full case study below walks through the research process, the strategy work, and the B2B outreach setup in more detail, including how customer psychology informed the messaging used in email and LinkedIn outreach.
